Figueres , Cadaqués and Púbol

Figueres , Cadaqués and Púbol are the three places which formed a vital part of the environment of Dalí and the inspiration for his work.

a) Figueres is the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. There you will find the Dalí Theatre-Museum, consisting of three distinct Museum spaces that propose a free and personal journey through its halls: the Theatre-Museum itself, the Group of rooms and Exhibition Hall Dalí Joies, presenting the 37 gold jewels and precious stones from an antique collection of Owen Cheatham.The Dalí Theatre-Museum contains a wide range of works that describe the career of the Empordà artist, from his early artistic experiences - Impressionism, Futurism, Cubism, etc. -and his creations within surrealism to the works of the last years of his life.

b) The medieval castle of Púbol was, during the 1970s, the painter´s spouse residence. Inside, you can see the paintings and drawings that Dalí gave Gala to be exhibited in the Castle, as well as sculptures of elephants that decorate the garden, a collection Gala´s designer fashion dresses, furniture and numerous objects with which they decorated the Castle.

c) Portlligat is the place where Dalí created his masterpieces. He spent long periods there during his childhood and youth, surrounded by a natural landscape and the light that inspired them and that were always reflected in his paintings.In the House, you can visit the workshop of the painter, library, rooms where he spent his private life, and the garden and swimming pool areas.
